![]() ![]() I think after so many changes once i started to disconnect and reconnect devices to my SSID they started appearing under client devices, i think that was the fix and the problem (hopefully because everything seems to be better now). I cant imagine that even using an old controller it wouldn't show you what devices are connected to your network wirelessly. I'll leave it be for the next few days and periodically check on it. I think these APs are just slow so any change takes a while (30 min) or so before it reflects any change. Currently I now see my PC connected to one of the APs which this whole entire morning I havent seen it connected. I just reuploaded a config file for the Unifi APs and I am wondering if it just takes some time. I don't believe its a controller issue but I am not sure 100% what it is. Molan Thank you for your help and the information. If you want it to match what you are using you need to manually edit it to be correct. If you where using the Unifi Router that would be the applied subnet, but because you only have the AP's it doesn't really affect anything beyond reporting in accurate info on some of the screens you see. Or buy newer access points that are still supported.Īs for the 192.168.1 vs 192.168.0 That is what you have configured in the controller for your default subnet, this is the default out of box settings still. You would never be able to update past that version. Downgrade your controller to an older version that does support those AP's and then leave it at that old version. Unsupported access points have extremely limited function in the portal. This could be why you don't see any clients connected. They show in the portal but only basic info. So if firmware and security updates are no longer supported that means the APs you are using are end of life and not supported. I am not sure why this shows a 168.1 address. (I know these are old but they are still fine for just home networking)Įdit: I think i figured out the issue or part of it.I looked in networks and it shows this pic below. the device was fully supported until feb 28 2021. MolanEdit: I have seen devices be connected to my access points my phone and dish devices should show as connected because they have in the past.Įdit: the yellow icon next to the ap is just a notification saying firmware nd security updates are no longer supported. Why will my APs not see devices connected when they are connected? On the wifi man app i verified, I could see all the APs broadcasting and matched AP w/Mac. 42 AP and went into the settings and set the network settings to static and applied the subnet mask IP, and gateway IP (my pf sense box) and the DNS IP (my pi hole). 69.Įdit: I went back in and restarted the. on the IP scanner it doesn't list an IP ending in. In the picture listed below with topology it lists a device ending in. My phone doesn't list as online and when i look at the mac address it only lists 1 instance of that mac (i know my phone would get a diff IP but figured id check the IP scanner list to see if it would list the same mac twice) I ran an IP scanner to see all the devices online and they show some wireless devices online (my pc) and show some hard-wired. My guess is rebooting the APs would fix all this but I just wondered since the APs have been up for a few days now. 69 i know is an intel device and when i looked up the mac it just says Intel Corporate as the vendor. ![]() When I looked at my APs this morning it only shows 1 device connected that I don't even know what it is (pic below). My wireless devices (phone, PC etc.) are all connected to the correct SSID (only 1 SSID). TL DR: It looks like devices listed in “unifi_data” that go from wireless_client to wired_client will never show up as “home” againt until removed from “unifi_data”.Hello, this question is regarding my home network (not lab network- its nonexistent) I recently reset all my Unifi APs (obsolete but still work) a few days ago. I noticed that mac addresses of devices which were once connected to an Unifi AP will be written to the file “unifi_data” in /home/homeassistant/.homeassistant/.storageĭevices which were once connected to an Unifi AP and since changed back to an Amplifi AP will only reoccure as “home” if the mac address of those devices are deleted from “unifi_data” and Home Assistant is restarted. As soon as the device changes back to an Amplifi AP it will never show up as “home” again. All good with that.Īll is fine until I connect one of the devices that normally connects to an Amplifi AP to one of the Unifi APs for the first time. All devices connected to Unifi APs will show up as wireless clients, devices connected to Amplifi APs will show up as wired clients. My network consists of a USG, Unifi APs as well as Amplifi APs. I’m using the unifi component for presence detection. I’m having some trouble with the unifi device tracker. ![]()
